Washington Trip 093And I can’t forget Sara at the fair.

Washington Trip 049I have never laughed so much for so long as I did in WA.  We had so many heart to hearts and even more hillarious conversations!  As we laughed about it we “worked on our six-packs”.  My stomache muscles and side muscles ached from laughter – it was Fantastic!  Thanks for the wonderful time everyone!

My Chef

Jack loves, loves, loves to be in the kitchen… a regular at our house is No Bake Cookies…

Jack’s First Day

085

Here is Jack on his first day of 4 Year Old Preschool.  He had a bit of a rocky start with leaving his mommy but he is doing wonderful now.  In fact today his teacher told me that he is adjusting really well – wouldn’t even know that he gives me a hassle about going to school…  I think that he just likes to work me over.

And then there is Joshua – he hated to have his picture taken until this day and then he thought that he should be in all the pictures saying “Cheeeese!”.

School !!!!

The first day of school has come and gone. Jay is in second grade and Lydi is in first. Jay has Mrs. Romain – she is new at the elementary school, she moved down from middle school’s 6 and 7th grade reading. Lydia has Samantha (Tate) Nedzinski – she has been teaching for 9 years (I think) and has been at our school for 8 of them…. They both seem to like their teachers so far – we haven’t had homework yet (they only went two days so far), but I am sure that it will be coming soon – too soon, probably tomorrow.

Jack starts 4 Year Old PreSchool tomorrow. I plan on putting the big kids on the bus and taking Joshua to Gramma & Grandpa’s so I can dedicate my morning drop off with Jack. He says that he doesn’t want to go, but then he says that he is excited. I am sure that he will enjoy it and get to love it. He has Mrs. Roberts – she is a great teacher!

Campfire Sleep Over at Gramma & Grandpa’s

The Grandparents invited the kids to stay over for the night and have a fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores….  of course they accepted the invitation.  But before the fire was ready for roasting we had to have hotdogs (on the grill) and some of Grandpa’s fresh corn – kids are so cute…

My Bathing Beauties

We finally have gotten some warm weather – so the kids and I hit the pool.  I can not believe that it will be back to school in 11 days.  Where did the summer go???  I really enjoy being home with all the munchkins – the worst part is the trail of mess that follows them :)  -the best is just having them here with me.  It is neat to watch their personalities develop and grow.

Josh loves to float – and keep his mouth open.  He is not afraid of the water and also enjoys jumping in and making a splash.

Fish Fry

We had the kids’ fish fry on Saturday the eighth of August.  There were about 120 people in attendance – it was a good time.  The weather was perfect all morning and afternoon.  We set up ladderball and two games of horseshoes.  Also set up a couple of tents and started frying the wings and fish and fresh cut french fries – then just as luck would have it the weather turned and it rained!  Now this didn’t come as much of a surprise because it has been raining all summer long in PA.  So the party was set to start at 4pm and the rain came right on time – 3:55 !!!!  Couldn’t have worked out any better :)

Well – we ate, and talked, and ate some more – there was enough food for an army and I am not exagerating!  There was plenty of food.  Then it kept on raining….  and drizzling….  at least we didn’t have any tornados or any strong winds….just rain!

The party came to a slow end as people collected their soaking, soppy children and took them home for baths.

We did have one incident – a robbery – that the story need not all be told but Lydia’s bike, our fire ring and yes- Troy’s cell phone all went on hiatus for a day – fortunately we knew who took them and they were all returned – but not until after the purchase of a new phone – so the lesson learned is not to trust family that you thought you could or the friends that come with them.  And when having to approach the said subject it doesn’t give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

All in all, it was a great day – sorry no pictures – my camera took a kerplunk and the new one is on order.
